This beautifully simple July elopement style wedding was an absolute joy to photograph. I did April and Josh’s engagement session earlier this year and was thrilled to see them again for their big day. It was a small ceremony with only their parents to witness and that gave us a ton of time for family photos and formal portraits. Jumping Off Rock was the perfect location for an elopement at sunset and we were able to get some amazing shots.
Mary & Jeremy
Summer in the South can be incredibly hot. So to stay cool for this engagement shoot we headed up to Brevard, NC to check out Looking Glass Falls. We were not disappointed with how the early morning light fell through the trees and the mist creating beautiful light beams that pointed almost directly to Mary and Jeremy. Towards the end they decided to take a dip to finish up their session! It was an epic day with tons of great shots.
Copy of Lauren
Lauren is a student and model in Charleston, SC and she is an absolute joy to work with! She has a great look and was effortless in front of the camera.
Jamie & Ryan ~ Maternity Portraits
I spent the afternoon with Jamie, Ryan, and their daughter(s) at Hatcher Gardens for a maternity shoot at the end of May. There was a thunderstorm clearing as we arrived and the sun was just starting to peak out through the clouds (perfect timing!). The colors from all the beautifully landscaped flowers in the garden made for the perfect backdrop for Jamie’s dress. It was clear how excited they were for the new baby to make her appearance in a month and we were laughing all day! Jamie was elegant and effortlessly beautiful, making my job easy and Ryan kept things light with the typical ‘dad’ jokes. I’m very glad I got to spend time photographing them to capture this very special time in their lives.
Jenna & Toronto
A romantic City Lights Session in Greenville, South Carolina’s NOMA Square.
Meredith & Chancen
A spring portrait session in Spartanburg for the Blackwoods. We met a little before sunset and had some gorgeous natural light throughout our shoot.
Lyndsey & Adam
I spent time with Lyndsey and Adam at Bradley Falls in Saluda, NC for a family portrait shoot. They looked great, were fun and easy to pose and were willing to climb out on the rocks for some fantastic shots! Their son is adorable for his photos and was all over the place, he had a great time playing by the creekside.
I had a great day shooting with the Aloette of Western NC franchise owner for her headshot session. We did several different looks and locations and came away with some great shots she will use in her personal marketing.
M&V Black Balsam
This was Matt and Victoria's first experience hiking AND the first time they've had professional portraits taken! I think Black Balsam Knob was the perfect destination for this couple as it is has beautiful views and is very accessible. I think it's safe to say they're hooked now!
Alex is a fantastic model I had the pleasure to work with in Phoenix, AZ this past March. She was a blast to work with and extremely good at self posing. We did our shoot at the Phoenix Marriott in downtown.
I took Mike and Lauren to Falls Park in Greenville, SC. We had a a good time talking about food and walking through the park taking photos. After all the food talk we decided to grab a bite at Velo Fellow and ate our fill!
Holt Family of 4
Environmental portrait of a cigar enthusiast.
Even though smoking isn't the best for you, from time to time it's nice and relaxing to sit back with good friends and have a glass of bourbon and smoke a cigar and talk about the deep thoughts we all have. Good times my friend.
Harry Potter Type
While in Phoenix for the Improve Photography Retreat, I had the opportunity to work with some excellent models including Calion Maston. He had a great attitude even while working 12-14 hour days and he always had a joke to offer up.
Katherine was such an awesome model, she did some cool yoga things that looked incredibly uncomfortable but made for great pictures. Including this, whatever this is. The only part of this I can do is look at my hand intently. :)
